FBE Silent Art Auction
Why a silent art auction?
The purpose of this art auction is to raise funds to purchase new technology for the art department. As an art teacher I would love to be able to increase student access to, and knowledge of how technology is used in the arts. Funds from the purchase of each art auction item will be used to purchase iPads and supplies to supplement digital photography equipment already in use by students. It is my hope that these enhancements to FBE's art curriculum will also help build a foundation for students to eventually enter a world (of art) that is becoming increasingly technology oriented. On this blog you will find works of art created by each classroom that will be up for auction on the evening of FBE's Art Night. Come back and check often for updates. Thank you in advance for your support and I look forward to seeing you on March 7th! ~Mrs. Low, Art Teacher

Ms. Marshall's Class
Over the last month and a half students in Ms. Marshall's class have been Pop Artists while learning about and creating artwork in this style. One iconic piece of Pop Art is Robert Indiana's "LOVE" sculptures and paintings. After feeling inspired by his message of "love not war," the class voted on a message for 2013 to share with our community. As you can see, student's picked the word "FREE" with a red, white, blue, and silver color theme! Size:12x16
Mrs. Furman's Class
This bright and exciting abstract painting is painted with acrylics on canvas. Students in Mrs. Furman's class took turns to help in the creation of all aspects of this painting. Whether it's the eye-catching composition, the friendly colors of the paint, the polka dot and stripe details, or the careful touch-up....it all looks awesome! Size: 12x16

Mrs. Gunter's class
To create this auction piece students helped to Mod Podge painted hearts onto a light blue splatter painted background. We then wrote a favorite thing that each individual student "loves" inside a heart. This would make a great class keepsake! Size: 12x16
Mrs. J. Jones' Class
As with the other third grade classes, this group of students worked together to create a sun themed piece of artwork. Each student helped to paint the background, clouds, sun, Mod Podge wall paper for the sun's rays, or the words that say "Here Comes the Sun." Size: 12x16

Mrs. Dunkleman's Class
Students in Mrs. Dunkleman's class all helped to design and color a mug for their art auction project. Each mug has it's own individual pattern and personality just like the artist who created it. Mugs are Mod Podged onto a recycled newspaper background which was then painted with blue watercolor. Size: 12x16
